The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer (C2BMC) (Level 4) to join the dynamic National Team in Colorado Springs, CO.

This position requires a current SECRET (or higher) Clearance.

  

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The C2BMC - National Team provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. C2BMC is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and weapon systems. The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges of threats and in all phases of flight.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate will be responsible for assisting with integrating, sustaining, and operating the C2BMC networks.  Candidate will be required to travel to remote locations to perform network installations and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in accordance with Program configuration management processes, independently perform troubleshooting, and provide status updates to Program personnel.

This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.

  

This position requires a current SECRET (or higher) Clearance.

 

BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools. 
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers. 
  • Strong experience with network communication products including router, switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS) and data encryption products including the KG-175 TACLANE.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Missile Defense Systems
  • Certifications in the industry vendors Cisco (CCNA) and Juniper (JNCIA) and components is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of the C2BMC network or organization.
  • Knowledge of protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark), DoD authentication & encryption methods/capabilites (Taclanes, TACAS+, RADIUS, Active Directory, GEM-X). Experience in NEtwork Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager or Solarwinds) or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, or Gigastore). 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP network troubleshooting.  Knowledge of WAN technologies, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/OP network designs. 
  • Basic knowledge of network design and testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls. 
  • Understanding of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and routing protocols, network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience.

Qualifications 

Typical Education/Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires an active (or the ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

  • This position requires a current Secret (or higher) clearance.

  • DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCN

  • Bachelor Degree (or higher) education.

 Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Missile Defense Systems
  • Certifications in the industry vendors Cisco (CCNA) and Juniper (JNCIA) and components is preferred.
