A Network Engineer applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to the analyses, design, development and verification of a lifecycle balanced system of systems. This individual will assist with evaluating customer/operational needs in order to refine system performance and functional requirements and define physical, functional and program interfaces. In addition, the selected candidate will assist with various analyses to optimize the system architecture; including performing root cause analysis and defining corrective action.
Basic job tasks will include:
Requirements analysis and maintenance.
System design activities including researching alternative solutions and providing decision analysis reports.
Design and develop verification tests.
Investigate root cause of system issues and define corrective action.
RF analysis and specification.
Hardware integration and testing.
Familiarity with LabView desired.
Software integration on Linux and embedded real time processors.
Testing and debugging Java and C/C++ code in Windows and/or Linux environments
System level testing including RF, Digital and all human system interfaces.

Typical Education and Experience:
Level 3: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
5 years’ experience with computing equipment and operating systems, primarily Linux/Unix and Windows, including system configuration and security is required.
Experience with scripting languages is required.
General knowledge of network communication concepts and architectures, including network transport services and concepts is required.
Active TS/SCI clearance is required
Preferred, but not required skills include:
•General knowledge of some programming languages is desired (preferred C++ and/or Java), with the strong candidate having knowledge of software build processes and debug skills.
•Familiarity with software development tools, including compilers and configuration management tools is a plus.
•Systems integration experience, including application database and integration across computing platforms.
•General knowledge of system design, analysis and testing, including the ability to perform broad multi-disciplinary trade studies.
•Experience with advanced scripting languages (OO), for example Perl or Python, is also a strong asset.
