Job Description

As a member of the Boeing Network Operations Center (BNOC) operations staff, the individual will assist in providing 24 hour continuous support for mission critical services to ensure uninterrupted flow of mission data. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to,

  • Proactively monitor and resolve application, system and network incidents.
  • Perform tasks using various standard tools, internal ticketing systems and monitoring consoles.
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing systems and processes with an eye to automate routine tasks. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to support interfacing directly with the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor and support the stability of data networks, network appliances, and NOC servers to ensure 24x7 operations
  • Respond to alerts/alarms according to the BNOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Manage trouble-ticketing system ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Work with internal and external teams during field installations and/or maintenance
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to help identify and resolve issues affecting BNOC services
  • Develop and maintain BNOC policies, procedures and tools
  • Assist engineering staff as required.

  • Develop scripts in C, C++, JAVA, etc. to support the automation of routine tasks
  • Develop enhancements to the network operations center (NOC) graphical user interface (GUI)
  • Develop device code to support retrieving status of health (SOH) data from remotely deployed assets
  • Support the development of device drivers capable of supporting remotely deployed assets configuration parameter updates.

 This contract requires the ability to obtain interim/or Final Clearance Post Start.

Qualifications 
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of local and wide area IP networks.
  • Familiarity with Cisco hardware.
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of satellite communications

Educational Requirements

 

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship.
