PROGRAM INFORMATION: 
The Missile Defense National Team B provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. C2BMC is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and weapon systems. The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges of threats and in all phases of flight. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Candidate will be responsible for assisting with integrating, sustaining, and operating the C2BMC networks. Candidate will be required to travel to remote locations to perform network installations and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in accordance with Program configuration management processes, independently perform troubleshooting, and provide status updates to Program personnel.


This position requires a current Secret Clearance 

This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.

  

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP network troubleshooting.  Knowledge of WAN technologies, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/OP network designs.  Basic knowledge of network design and testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls.  Understanding of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and routing protocols, network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience.

BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE:

Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.  Must work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers.  Experience with network communication products including router, switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS) and data encryption products including the KG-175 TACLANE.

 

As a Mid Career (Level 3) Systems Engineer the successful candidate will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

 

Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

Qualifications 

Typical Education/Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires an active (or the ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

  • This position requires a current Secret Clearance 

  • This position requires a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) education.

  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA). Candidate will be responsible to maintain DoD 8570 certification for the full contract period.

  • Domain experience in computing security

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in the Computer Science field, or equivalent experience (i.e. EE, CIS, CPE, MIS, IT).
  • Domain experience in missile defense system networks
  • Certifications in the industry vendors Cisco (CCNA) and Juniper (JNCIA) and components is preferred. 
    Prior knowledge of the C2BMC network or organization.
  • Knowledge of protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark), DoD authentication & encryption methods/capabilites (Taclanes, TACAS+, RADIUS, Active Directory, GEM-X). Experience in NEtwork Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager or Solarwinds) or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, or Gigastore).
  • Prior knowledge of the C2BMC network or organization
  • Domain experience in missile defense system networks
