Job description

1.0 Summary of Job Purpose:
The ideal candidate will perform Non Destructive special processes on the Safran Helicopter Engines family of engines.

2.0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures
•Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as eddy current, electromagnetic, leak, liquid dye penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, and visual testing
•Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials
•Make radiographic images to detect flaws in objects while leaving objects intact
•Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques
•Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results
•Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer
•Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, or results
•Produce images of objects on film using radiographic techniques
•Works with hand tools, measuring equipment, to perform Non Destructive inspection
•Inspects materials and products such as engine parts, machine shop parts, and metal castings for conformance to specifications

3.0 Scopes and Accountabilities:
•Follows prescribed procedures, making alterations if needed, but must inform supervisor promptly
•Recommends expenditures
•Maintain confidentiality in regards to sensitive information
•Eliminate errors

4.0 Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience as a Level 1 NDT Technician; Level 2 preferred
•Intermediate Level – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel
•Mechanical/technical/interpersonal skills that can be applied immediately to job duties
