Job Description

Support and development of multiple .Net applications and web services.  Collaborates with management, business analysts, project managers, IT Architects, Technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain current applications, including, but not limited to, bug fixes, feature enhancements and performance tuning
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; identify and implement solutions
  • Work with a team to create detailed project specifications, requirements and estimates
  • Ensure tasks/projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Work with production operations department to ensure deployments roll out smoothly and customer group receives appropriate support
  • Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security and performance
  • Document validation of design decisions
  • Develop and enforce policy and procedural changes within the development group
  • Develop coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines
  • Lead code reviews
  • Work closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs
  • Develop and provide support for multiple applications

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology or related field or equivalent experience and or training
  • 5+ years total development experience
  • 3+ years object-oriented application experience
  • Skills in  .NET/Java web services and applications
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL
  • Extensive knowledge of object oriented programming
  • Extensive knowledge of common data structures and algorithms
  • Extensive knowledge of design patterns and best practices
  • Ability to scrutinize applications and services to ensure they adhere to security standards.
  • Networking knowledge (Sockets, TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Demonstrated project management methodology experience, including IT delivery methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on customer service and teamwork
  • Ability and willingness to provide 24x7 production support, as assigned
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio preferred
  • Experience with diagnostics tools (Tealeaf, Fiddler, IE Inspector, HTTP Analyzer) preferred
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Sabre reservation systems and other airport operational applications is a plus
