American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for an Object Oriented Programmer Analyst to perform the following duties: Architect, plan, design develop and document user stories/technical details. Utilize knowledge of design patterns and best practices for high performance, scalable, extensible applications. Evaluate user requests for new or modified fare attributes to determine correct fares/recommendations. Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Formulate plans, outlining the steps required to develop programs using structured analysis and design. Experience/knowledge of user-centered design, and user interface design to create software solutions that yield a positive user experience. Participate in the evaluation, recommendation and selection of hardware and software solutions. Develop and modify applications or specialized utility programs. Utilize test driven development techniques such as JUnit. Experience in integration of SharePoint API on Java application. Design and improve internal development methodologies around OpenSpan solutions with particular focus on OpenSpan configuration management, build, deploy and release processes. Troubleshoot and debug software issues as well as investigate and resolve problems on software products and systems. Report accurate status of the projects aligned with methodology being used (AGILE/SCRUM). Work with business and technical team members to identify and define issues. Recommend process, methodology, and tool changes in conjunction with Architects and QA to best meet the needs of the department and customer. Participate in requirements review sessions and perform peer code reviews. Provide 24/7 support, on a rotation basis.
Masters’ degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, engineering or related field plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a software engineer or developer, or systems engineer, plus demonstrated experience in: Java, J2EE, WebSphere Application Server, Tomcat, JSON, Sencha EXTJS, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Ant, Unix/Linux, Oracle Database, MS SharePoint, Hudson, OpenSpan and JUnit.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
