UTAS’ Operations, Operational Excellence (OpX) office is looking for a high performance, goal oriented, professional to serve as the SME for ACE Implementation culture and elements aligned to our Strategic Business Units (SBU). The position can be located at UTC HQ in Charlotte, or at a key factory of the applicable SBU and will have responsibility for coaching, advising, mentoring through events, training, and creating self-sufficiency within the SBU. The position will lead activities (events, training, etc.) and develop standards (standard work, training packages, etc.) for their elements of the ACE Implementation Matrix (AIM) including Strategic Planning, Training, Shop Floor Management, Visual Workplace, Layout/Linkage/flow, and PFEP, ensuring implementation of the 34 key processes of standard factory, physical transformation, and Process Based Organization.

While reporting through UTAS HQ and the OpX Office where they will have technical and strategic support, the selected candidate will work alongside the SBU leadership (Ops, OpX, ACE) and their teams to implement an end to end production system in a multi-site environment. This high visibility role will develop the candidate’s knowledge of Global Operations and the various aspects of the entire Operations Value Chain (Production, Materials, Supply Chain, SIOP), positioning them well for future leadership roles in any of the respective departments.

Success will be defined by the successful transformation of sites, cells, and processes, and improvement in the relevant KPI’s, resulting in ACE Bronze, Silver and Gold. Candidate must be knowledgeable in Lean Production Systems including Cell Design, Manufacturing Standard Work, Material Presentation, and Lean Logistics/Supply Chain, with experience hands on running manufacturing operations (cell/unit/site) highly desirable. Candidate will be running projects as well as coaching others, developing standards, and reporting on progress. Influencing leadership and creating lasting cultural change are major components of this role.

This position is an individual contributor role (Lean/Quality/Cultural transformation coach/advisor) and will report to the Director, Operational Excellence, UTAS Operations, and will work in coordination with SBU leadership (SBU President, Ops VP/Director, ACE/OpX Lead, Site Leaders, etc.) and be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

* Work with the SBU to plan, lead and execute the implementation of ACE within the SBU.
* Develop and execute the roadmap
* Transform Cells to flow / pitch / takt
* Implement JIT/JIS Materials Management philosophy
* Integrate the SC integration through accountability to PFEP
* Align all portions of the Production System to work in harmony

* Create self-sufficiency in the SBU
* Coach / guide / mentor / assist LTL’s and Site Project Managers
* Train all levels and functions of the SBU

* Determine / monitor / improve KPI’s and implementation progress
* Roll up metrics from all ongoing OpX Projects within the SBU
* IT Systems (ACP tool, website, SharePoint, web based content delivery, etc.)
* Implementation of a successful tracking and monitoring system
* Transformation progress
* Attributable KPI changes

* Positively affect KPI change, including, but not limited to:
* Lead Time (Days to Manufacture) decreases
* On Time Start increases
* Full Kit Start increases
* Productivity increases
* Schedule Stabilization improvement
* Inventory reduction

* Development / enhancement of relevant portions of the SF Franchise Book

Qualification: Location is flexible due to the travel nature of the role (supporting sites in various locations); however, strong preference will be given to proximity to large manufacturing sites / hub locations.

Education: The following is Required:

* A minimum of 10 years in Operations/ACE/Lean related Leadership/Management roles
* A minimum of 5 years in shop floor leadership required (cell/unit/site management)
* Expertise in Lean required with preference with Toyota Production System grade 1 certified (certified Lean Master from recognized/reputable company, certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, or similar)
* The ability to demonstrate previous success in planning for and delivering a change management agenda
* Strong knowledge in Materials/SIOP/Supply Chain
* The ability to demonstrate previous experience leading multi-dimensional change/lean projects
* The demonstrated ability to influence change across lines of business without direct mandate
* The demonstrated ability to apply data analytical skills to drive and influence data-driven decision-making
* Expertise in the use of MS Office products
* Experienced in leading cross-functional teams in a virtual work environment
The following are preferred:

* IT experience (database, programming)
* SAP knowledge
* Automotive production system experience
