The Payroll Supervisor or Manager will report directly to the Corporate Financial Controller and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the payroll department, including managing a staff of three payroll clerks.
Essential Job Functions:
*Manages payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
* Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions and savings deductions.
*Pays employees by directing the issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
*Compiles summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
*Determines payroll liabilities through the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
*Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
*Earns employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
*Maintains department’s performance by recruiting, training, monitoring, evaluating and coaching payroll staff.
*Communicates effectively with all levels of management and works closely with the HR department to ensure company initiatives and goals are accomplished.
*Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
*Attention to detail, analytical Skills and problem solving skills
*Comprehensive working knowledge of ADP payroll systems and proficient at Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel
*Customer service oriented
Years of Experience Required:
4-7 years of relevant experience
ADP Certified / CPP Preferred
