We are looking for the best and brightest to fly and land with us!

We have an immediate need for a Performance Engineer in our Landing Gear division.

Reporting to the Manager of Performance Engineering, the purpose of the job is to perform static/dynamic loads, retraction, shimmy, steering and vibration analysis for landing gear and flight controls to support project heads, Integrated Product Team (IPT), divisional engineering teams and chief engineers office activities.

o Retrieve test data and correlate with analytical results for model modification and verification,
o Generate, develop and maintain in-house dynamic simulation computer programs,
o Develop landing gear performance dynamics models,
o Compute landing gear dynamic loads and landing impact for optimizing landing gear absorption characteristics,
o Identify critical loading conditions and documentation of results in formal Engineering Reports,
o Prepare, provide input and review test plans and provide technical assistance during testing,
o Support flight, ground, qualification and development testing,
o Participate in hydro-mechanical development & troubleshooting testing,
o Perform derivation of design loads and analysis of dynamic performance to ensure that customer and certification requirements are satisfied,
o Develop structural dynamics models and compute dynamic loads,
o Perform systems hydro-mechanical simulations,
o Generate and review technical/certification performance reports,
o Develop and present performance analysis for: design reviews, structural sizing, trade studies and configuration considerations,
o Ensure compliance with UTAS Landing Systems, customer and industry requirements,
o Ensure compliance with Export Control, EH&S and Ethics,
o Ensure compliance to UTAS Landing Systems engineering methodologies,
o Maintain compliance to ITAR and regulatory requirements,
o Work with other members of the IPT to ensure that product meets requirements (cost, reducibility, customer, regulatory, internal design standards).
o Comply with behaviors that are in line with the UTAS Four Gears as well as site and company EH&S policies and procedures
Qualification: Required Qualifications:

o Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering,
o 4-7 years of experience in analysis tools and techniques,
o Demonstrated experience using ADAMS, Matlab / Simulink,
o Working knowledge of MS programs ( Word, Excel, Project, PPT),
o Working knowledge of Catia V5 – fundamentals,
o Working knowledge of Engineering PDM systems such as Matrix and Smarteam,
o Basic understanding of landing gear and flight control principals and operation,
o Must be able to verify U.S. Person status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR),
o Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR & CCGP,

Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
o Professional Engineering Designation,
o Minimum 2 years of experience in landing gear performance analysis,
o Open-minded, pro-active, quick learning ability, teamwork and strong desire to learn,
o US Citizen.
Education: o Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
