SUMMARY

This is an entry level Operations position.

The Pilot Resource Planner is responsible for assisting in forecasting pilot staffing requirements, booking travel for Temporary Duty Pilots, vacation bidding, and efficient scheduling of System Coverage openings for Pilots under the direction and supervision of the Pilot Resource Manager and in coordination with the Chief Pilot.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Forecast long and short term pilot staffing requirements for pilot bases system wide

Monitor flight schedule additions, deletions, and changes that could impact pilot staffing requirements system wide

Monitor and report First Officer base assignments for time building and work closely with Pilot Training and Chief pilots offices of progress of the candidate to move into CP training.

Monitor FO base assignments and base swaps.

Post, award, and track pilot vacation bids based on current company policies and procedures for all pilots system wide

Schedule and track System Resource Pilots ensuring they are deployed in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible

Coordinate travel for System Resource Pilots, home based and reserve pilots that are sent to cover open time duties out of base, including air, hotel, and ground transportation, as required

Coordinate with Pilot Training for check rides and release to line projections

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous airline Crew Scheduling or Crew Planning experience plus

Must have a thorough working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) with respect to pilot duty and rest requirements

Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

Must have Microsoft Office Word and Excel and be extremely detail oriented

Must have strong organizational and time management skills and be capable of working both independently and in a team environment

Must be willing to work varied hours, if required, and expect on-call duties in order to meet the demands of a 24-hour, 7-day per week flight schedule and operation

Must be able to work efficiently and professionally in stressful situations when they arise

Crew Software experience a plus.

Education: A college degree is preferred, but not required for the right candidate

Must pass a 10 year background and criminal history record check
