Responsibilities:

Provides legendary service by coordinating and planning the routine daily/monthly activities related to pilot training schedules.  Responsible for interpreting SWAPA Contracts, FAR's, FOTM, relating to all aspects of Training Scheduling.  Ability to work under tight time constraints while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

 

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

 

  • Responsible for notifying pilots due for recurrent training events. Produces and provides training schedules to affected pilots.
  • Analyze/award training assignments in accordance with FAR's, SWAPA contracts, office policies, and FOTM requirements. Determines pay calculations, and assigns training efficiently, while making sound and economic decisions. Responsible for making hotel accommodations and travel reservations upon pilots request.
  • Communicate training assignments to internal departments- Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Crew Payroll, Crew Base Coordinators, and Simulator Technicians. Responsible for completing all monthly time line items accurately and within the deadlines. Ability to utilize various computerized systems to schedule and pay pilots for training activities and to record satisfactory completion of training events.
  • Coordinates and schedules operating experience events for Initial First Officer, Captain Upgrade, and Check Airman schedules, and the FAA in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Schedules pilots for non-flying and non-training events. Assist with Special Projects occasionally.
  • Responsible for overseeing daily check list, including processing trades, covering sick calls/no shows, for all Pilots, Instructors, and Check Pilots. Updates and maintains Pilot, Instructor, and Check Pilot training and certificate information via OQS (Operations Qualification System) and hard copy records in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and FOTM approved programs. Responsible to ensure Pilot training qualification and expire qualifications for Pilots on leave status.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required. 

Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

 

EDUCATION:

  • College coursework or degree would be an asset.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred Computer experience.
  • Minimum 1 year previous experience in a Customer Service related position required.
  • Previous work experience in a fast paced, multi-variable influenced position required.
  • Previous experience in scheduling/assigning people to job tasks desireable but not required.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to work in an office environment.  

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

 

The applicant must possess:

  • The ability to effectively communicate (verbally and aurally) by telephone and face to face. Must be able to operate multi-line telephone with sufficient courtesy and speed.
  • Must have ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical computations using decimals and/or hours and minutes, both with and without a calculator.
  • The ability to read and comprehend documents, Including federal regulations, contracts, and Company material.
  • Follow instructions, learn and understand new concepts, and prepare written documents that convey information to others in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude while exercising flexibility under pressure. Must possess excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work under tight time constraints and in high stress situations to accomplish assignments. Must be able to maintain focus on tasks at hand while working in a busy and distracting environment.
  • The ability to use various PC applications, type and/or use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet demands of job, and have the vision ability to view and read a VDT on a frequent basis.
  • Added duties include confidentiality, reading documents, problem solving, demanding timelines, customer contact. Professional behavior will be expected on and after company hours at company events. Extended hours due to irregular operations may be required.

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts.
  • Must be able to work overtime if required.
