Position Overview

The Material Planner is responsible for the management, planning, and allocation of Hawaiian Airlines’ aircraft parts and general inventory, worth over $100M, in support of the Global Technical Operations organization.

Key Responsibilities

* Accountable to manage the inventory ownership levels for one or more fleet /commodity types by allocating, monitoring ongoing usage, repair pipeline times, flight inventory disservices, parts shortages, expedites and flight schedule activity

* Responsible to provide the overall strategic analysis to ensure appropriate inventory ownership levels and inventory strategies are aligned to meet the Aircraft maintenance scheduled and nonscheduled mission

* Responsible to ensure financial guidance is in line with the department budget by providing analytics that encompasses both future and current forecasted inventory demands

* Responsible for collaborating with company stakeholders, and serves as the Supply Chain material planning fleet champion

* Measures performance against established goals, ensuring accountability, and driving action to achieve the mission and vision of the, Supply Chain Management Organization

* Analyzes rotable component requisitions to ensure inventory levels are in line with budget and operational requirements prior to submitting request to the Purchasing organization to source

* Perform buy vs. repair analysis on repairable inventory items
* Approves all new parts to be set up in active inventory
* Recommends items to be transferred from active to inactive inventory status; and approves items to be removed from inactive to active status

* Develops procedures and tools to monitor the unserviceable pipeline and provide necessary follow-up to ensure turn times are met

* Monitors outside vendor performance and provides feedback to the Vendor Performance group

* Represents the Supply Chain Organization on all Engineering projects and modifications

* Monitors in-house component shop performance and provides feedback to shop management

* Performs BER analysis upon receipt of repair costs from overhaul agencies
* Maintains and updates inventory optimization module and other analytical tools developed to assist in inventory planning

* Manage projects assigned by the Manager, Material Planning
* Other analytical duties, as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

* BS degree in Inventory Control, financial assets management, Supply Chain Management, or related field(s)

* 3 years of relevant supply chain management, or procurement experience
* Must have excellent analytical skills and proficiency using statistical analysis tools

* Must be computer literate with the ability to define systems requirements with information systems personnel

* Must have strong capabilities to work with database, spreadsheet and word processing software

* Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills
* Must be knowledgeable of inventory accounting principles
* Must be able to work with people from other departments in a team oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in production planning or materials planning in an airline, transportation or service industry

* 3 years of Airline experience
* Prior experience in supply chain or distribution industry
