  • Determines and manages ownership levels for rotable, expendable and repairable parts by monitoring usage, repair pipeline times, flight parts-caused delays, parts shortages, expedites and flight activity.
  • Reviews rotable component requisitions before submitting to Purchasing for ordering.
  • Perform buy vs. repair analyses on repairable inventory items.
  • Approves all new parts to be set up in active inventory.
  • Recommends items to be transferred from active to inactive inventory status; and approves items to be removed from inactive to active status.
  • Develops procedures and tools to monitor the unserviceable pipeline and provide necessary follow-up to ensure turn times are met.
  • Monitors outside vendor performance and provides feedback to the Vendor Performance group.
  • Monitors in-house component shop performance and provides feedback to shop management.
  • Performs BER analyses upon receipt of repair costs from overhaul agencies.
  • Maintains and updates inventory optimization module and other analytical tools developed to assist in inventory planning.
  • Manage projects assigned by the Manager, Material Planning.

Basic Requirements

  • Must have excellent analytical skills and proficiency using statistical analysis tools.
  • Must be computer literate with the ability to define systems requirements with information systems personnel.
  • Must have strong capabilities to work with database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable of inventory accounting principles.
  • Must be able to work with people from other departments in a team oriented environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience in production planning or materials planning in an airline, transportation or service industry
  • Airline experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Prior experience in supply chain or distribution industry
  • BS degree in Inventory Control, Supply Chain Management, or related field(s)
