Job Description:

This is an entry level position in the Special Process Department. Performs basic Plating functions under minimum supervision and is responsible for plating of aircraft components, including preparation of components, to customer specifications and development of work techniques.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Plates all alloys per required aerospace and NADCAP specifications.
* Operates furnace for stress relief and embrittlement bake cycles
* Performs calibration and thickness tests per requirements
* Checks own work with calipers, micrometers, gages
* Performs Buffing/Polishing operations
* Takes an active role to ensure Environment, Health, and Safety standards and procedures are met and complied with
* Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
* Provides continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives
* Perform other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary

Attendance Standards:

* Consistently be at work and communicate appropriately any attendance issues with your supervisor as per policy
* Consistently at their work station at the appropriately scheduled time.
* Does not abuse breaks and/or departure times.

Possible Future Positions:

* Plater II
* Plater III

* Due to federal regulation or contracting requirements, this position is only available to U.S. persons.
* Nothing matters more to UTC Aerospace Systems than our strong ethical and safety commitments. As such, all U.S. positions require a background check, which may include a drug screen.

Qualification:

Experience/ Qualifications:

* Basic plating knowledge
* Read and understand blueprints and travelers
* Able to operate hand tools, light equipment, and material handling equipment
* Able to operate measurement tools such as micrometers and thickness probes
* Basic mechanical knowledge
* Communicates well with others
