We are currently searching for a Principal Electrical Engineer - Advanced Technology Pursuits to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA (1000). The Advanced Technology & System Solutions group within the ATC is seeking a self-motivated engineer to contribute to the team that supports Pursuit & Order Capture and project execution activities within the Center. The Center is chartered with creating, demonstrating, and transitioning innovative technologies that improve the safety, efficiency, and capability of both commercial / military aviation and high integrity systems.

As a significant contributor within the ATC, the successful candidate will have responsibility for strategic planning - THINKING BIG, project execution, business development assistance - TAKING ACTION, and guiding/mentoring/supporting technical staff - HELPING OTHERS SUCCEED.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of demonstrated leadership, domain-relevant innovation, excellent oral and written communication skills, teamwork and critical thinking skills, and experience capturing science and technology (S&T) funding.

The ideal candidate will support Pursuit & Order Capture by profiling/trending S&T funding opportunities and assessing customer needs that align with Center technology priorities, assisting in proposal guidance/preparation, supporting project/activity planning and execution, and promoting innovation/collaboration throughout the enterprise. Customers and collaborators include other groups within Engineering & Information Technology, the Rockwell Collins business units as well as government research organizations. It is expected that the ideal candidate will establish and develop relationships with these organizations.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; identified skills and experience
* Experience working in a fast-paced R&D environment
* Comprehension of multiple technical disciplines to facilitate working effectively throughout the organization
* Experience guiding teams of diverse contributors to accomplish common objectives
* Must be a self-starter and have strong analytical skills
* Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, while balancing priorities and schedules
* Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others across geographic and organizational boundaries
* Experience with proposal writing and executing S&T projects
* Willingness and ability to obtain a security clearance
