Job Summary

Become part of the growing Government Systems Engineering ASIC & FPGA Design Solutions team. This position is for a highly experienced, highly motivated Electrical or Computer Engineer that will be involved in the design, implementation, verification and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital systems (ASICs, FPGAs, and MPSOCs) for signal processing, image processing, and information assurance applications . As an engineer in this organization, you will be employing best practice design methodologies supporting our next generation of Communication, Navigation, and Airborne products.

Desired skills of a successful candidate:

*

Prior experience with ASIC/FPGA/SoC design assurance activities under DO-254.

*

Prior experience with OVM/UVM Methodology.

*

Familiarity with best practice chip-level verification techniques and languages (e.g. constrained random, functional coverage, SystemVerilog).

*

Ability to troubleshoot Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability issues

*

Prior experience with developing in an Agile environment and knowledge of the Agile principles.

Job Responsibilities

*

Requirements capture and decomposition.

*

ASIC/FPGA/SOC digital architecture and design.

*

RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog

*

Requirements-based test bench development for the verification of RTL blocks using VHDL or System Verilog

*

Significant domain knowledge and knowledge of products and systems across business segments. Recognized as a subject matter expert in a given domain within business unit.

*

Serve as a hardware architect to capture, analyze, decompose, translate and create requirements for systems of high complexity including clean sheet designs.

*

Serve as lead in integration, verification, and validation for products and sub-systems of high complexity including clean sheet designs.

*

Lead technical proposal preparations and participate as a subject matter expert in internal design, non-advocate, and customer reviews. Assure that development products are designed to meet the applicable RCI, Business Unit, and Customer/Project requirements.

*

Mentors teams in the design, test, analysis, integration, qualification and documentation of hardware of high complexity. Identifies needed changes to internal processes and tools for hardware development to increase productivity or quality. Responsible for technical details of hardware designs, ensuring they meet the expectations of the customer.

*

Estimate, track, manage and report status relating to technical, cost, schedule, design-to-cost and risk performance for assigned scope of work which may span across multiple disciplines or multiple design projects.

*

Recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in hardware development process.

*

Considered an expert on company, industry practices and standards. Identifies gaps in the organization's technical knowledge and assists in closing those gaps. Aware of emerging industry trends relative to new technologies and fabrication processes. Lead Continuous Improvement projects that result in new approaches and techniques to product development.

Basic Qualifications

* Ability to obtain a Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required.
*

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

*

Expert using FPGA vendor specific tools (e.g. Vivado, Quartus, and Libero).

*

Expert with implementing solutions that contain 3rd party IP.

*

Expert experience in one or more of the following domains

*

Digital Signal Processing as applied to communications

*

Video Systems including manipulation and Video Interface Standards

*

Navigation systems including GPS and Signal Reception

*

Cryptography and crypto algorithms, and certifying these with the NSA

*

Designing data interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, or ARINC-429

*

Expert using ASIC/FPGA simulation tools such as Questasim.

*

Multiple successful experiences leading teams of 8 or more ASIC/FPGA Engineers working on multi-device developments.

*

Expert in creating timing constraints and achieving timing closure (Vivado, Quartus, Libero, Primetime)

*

Prior experience with Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl.

*

Prior experience with SoC based designs including ARM Core architectures.

*

Provide guidance or mentor, when necessary, to a team of engineers with a variety of skills and backgrounds.

*

Recommendation of new tools and practices for continuous improvement in the group’s ASIC/FPGA design flow.

*

Experience with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Subversion, Clearcase)

*

Ability to perform ASIC / FPGA validation with advanced lab equipment

*

Strong oral and written communication skills
