Position Description

• Investigates, develops, and proposes manufacturing process/technology improvements
(e.g., safety improvements, cost reduction, productivity or quality improvements, automation, special tooling, machine modifications, and improved work methods)
• Develops and documents the required parameters for machines and tools used to produce products
• Develops process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) on new or existing equipment as needed to support production of Avicenna’s products and writes validation reports
• Participates in the design/repair/maintenance of equipment, machinery, fixtures, & gauges
• Interacts with suppliers to assure equipment and tooling meet the needs of Avicenna
• Supports the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and teams, including working with Product Development Engineers to develop routings, work instructions, and visual aids

Position Requirements

• Effective communication, interaction, and cooperation skills with manufacturing and sales, other Avicenna personnel, as well as customers and suppliers
• Broad engineering abilities and understanding of electrical, mechanical, and mfg/industrial engineering disciplines (general understanding of each, with focus in one or more discipline).
• Laser, automation, and cleanroom manufacturing process knowledge desirable
• Knowledge of, and experience using, statistical techniques and how to apply them to improve a manufacturing process
• Problem solving and analytical ability
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or ProE beneficial
• Project Management skills desired
• Medical/FDA experience/knowledge beneficial
• Education and experience per job level and company need
