POSITION SUMMARY

Develop Aircraft engineering solutions for electrical cabin systems focused in commercial aircraft reconfigurations and modifications using service bulletins.

 

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Develop executive and commercial aircraft electrical engineering packages based on market, product and certification requirements in order to ensure adherence to quality as well as the overall program cost and schedule goals
  • Ensure project related engineering data is in compliance with corporate policies and certification requirements
  • Applies technical principles, theories and concepts to solve a wide range of challenging engineering problems
  • Ensures aircraft electrical configuration is correct and updated after service bulletin incorporation
  • Support Electrical Design team ensuring electrical installations/modifications are design properly

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Education:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering or a related field.

 

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in aviation industry.
  • Familiar with technical publications such as Wiring Manual (WM), Standard Wiring Practices Manual (SWPM), Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalog (AIPC) and Service Bulletins.
  • Knowledge in certification and applicable requirement for FAR part 25 for electrical interior systems  (e.g. Galley Electrical System, In-seat power outlets system, In-Flight Entertainment System).
  • Experience in Electrical Load Analysis, wiring diagrams and installation design is required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:   

  • Ability to present information and solutions to other individuals in and understandable and relatable manner presenting self professionally in all written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to make accurate decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines, using a mixture of analysis, experience and judgement.
  • Willingness to seek out new challenges, asks questions, provide feedback and look for positive solutions and ways to improve self-performance as well as the department’s processes and operations.
  • Ability to develop, monitor and maintain implementation timelines, track deliverables and meet milestones in a structured way.
  • High level of proficiency handling priority conflict and multiple projects executing simultaneously while maintaining efficiency, minimal errors, and a high level of customer service in a fast paced work environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft interior electrical systems development, wiring diagrams, electrical installation and certification.
  • Highly motivated, self-started mindset, ability to find consensus.
  • May act as Project Representative from immediate group they are assigned to in the resolution of problems/issues encountered across multiple functions which require a coordinated response.
  • Systematic problem solving approach and other technologies integration.
  • Ability to provide guidance on task completion to more Junior Team Members reviewing and check their work assignments.                                                                                                                                       
  • Proficient computer skills with use of Microsoft office applications
  • Knowledge in CATIA is desired. Training will be provided if required
  • Proficient in IGE-XAO Electrical Expert or any equivalent diagram design software (Autocad, Lcable, Mentor-graphics).
  • Portuguese or Spanish language is a plus.

 

Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Engineering development environment were specific processes for new developments have to be created, tested and disseminated among peers to develop expertise in the group.
  • Availability for domestic and international travel
