Position Description

Follow procedures on proper packing, shipping, and receiving.

Shipping:
Properly process, pack and handle components to arrive undamaged to customers and suppliers (internal and external).

Pack, weigh, address and seal boxes containing electro-mechanical assemblies and optical components and their sub-assemblies.

Operate a variety of wood working tools such as panel saw, band saw and pneumatic nailers.

Coordinate construction of wood crates with the planners and or engineers.

Call freight carriers to arrange pick up of freight.

Complete shipping bill of lading and documentation for common carrier, air freight, UPS and Federal Express.

Complete computer transactions for shipments and invoicing.

Determine best method of shipment if not specified.

Receiving:

Identify electronic and mechanical assemblies, verify item, count to purchase orders and accurately enter data on computer system.

Call vendors, organize and control paperwork, understand process flow.

Prioritize and work effectively at a variety of demanding tasks and schedules.

Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Follow set ISO procedures.

Basic computer knowledge to receive incoming material.

Operate forklift (5,000 lbs).

Understand written and verbal English.

Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Work well with internal and external customers to complete the job efficiently and safely.
Must be a team player and offer new ideas.
