PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 2nd Shift (3:30 pm - 12:00 am)


At Parker Aerospace's Stratoflex division we're seeking a talented Production Supervisor to join our team in Camarillo, CA. At this location, we manufacture high-temperature, high-pressure zero-leak metal fittings which provide unmatched reliability in aerospace fluid conveyance systems. In this critical role, you'll lead our manufacturing operations including team leads, assemblers & test technicians who make our products during two daily shifts. You will be a change agent as you help to implement much needed improvements to our operational environment. We need someone comfortable with training, coaching and mentoring. You will be relied upon to be a proactive problem solver who effectively troubleshoots production issues and implements effective solutions while minimizing impact to on-time delivery. You will also serve as a resource manager ensuring the team champions best practices, continuous improvement, problem solving and product process/refinements while working to increase safety and product quality.

•Lead the day to day activities of a team of 20 – 25 team members in assembly and test.

•Drive improvements to increase first pass yield and decrease turn-backs.

•Develop workforce through cross training to reduce single point failures & create a fluid team.

•Collaborate with quality to execute on site certified operator program (QUATS).

•Coordinates the schedules of major work activities to ensure timely completion to meet inter-departmental and customer commitments.

•Compiles and troubleshoots various reports on operational data and measures; implements process or procedural improvements in coordination with related departments.

•Maintains contact with inter-organizational and customer or government representatives regarding phases of projects, schedules, and major work assignments.

•Has input in developing team resource requirements (e.g. workload balancing, training and

development, equipment maintenance) and establishing internal procedures.

•Substantial practical knowledge and understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and/or specialty areas in quality or operations support, including applicable information systems and reports (e.g. MRP or other planning/execution systems).

•Responsible for time and attendance management, performance reviews and employee management.

•Ensures resources committed to executing the production schedule will meet the customer

requirements and internal business metrics; time utilization, productivity, and overtime management.

•Responsible for daily backlog management and floor presence monitoring WIP progress and execution.

•Troubleshoot production problems and implement corrections through required change control to minimize impact and eliminate root cause.

•Provide leadership by developing an operation environment to support current and future challenges through training, coaching and counseling.

•Develop and implement Kaizen plans, daily management, lean conversion, and counter measures.

•Implement and drive Kanban inventory system as necessary to prevent material shortages and impact on delivery.

•Align expectations to drive an HPT culture in the department.

•Ensures that safety, policies, and procedures are followed (i.e. breaks, lunches, overtime, safety glasses, etc.) and completes job accidents reports in a timely manner.

•Reviews work cell workload vs. capacity to determine resource allocation and planning.

•Works with Planners to ensure work is released on-time, address shortages, and plan for assembly and test surges.

•Ensures team metrics are updated and Team Improvement Boards (TIB) in a timely manner.

•Works with Manufacturing Engineering group to communicate short-term needs and long-term


•Has continuous improvement and data automation mindset to eliminate waste and increase productivity.

•Attends management meetings and holds team meetings to relay information.

•Responsible for general direction, leadership and team performance of a production, quality or

operations support area.

•Responsible for functional areas within operations including: Manufacturing Operations: Assembly & Test.

•Implements process or procedural improvements in coordination with related departments.


•Education and experience at a professional level typically acquired through a B.A. /B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline or equivalent, and four or more years of directly related experience.

•Substantial practical knowledge and understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and/or specialty areas in quality or operations support, including applicable information systems and reports (e.g. MRP or other planning/execution systems).

•General knowledge of business and government regulations (e.g. manufacturing specifications, FAA, safety).

•Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results & meeting organizational objectives.

•Ability to assess, develop & measure individual and team skills/capabilities and to maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.

•Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
