This position is for the Program Planner/Scheduler of the flight crew and aircraft of a Part 135 and DOD Contracted Air Services USN Contract. The Planner/Scheduler works closely with Flight Operations and Maintenance to ensure all customer scheduling requirements are met. This position requires precise attention to detail in order to manage multiple assets and employees within a dynamic schedule.

Essential functions:

*

Be available to support the schedule by hours a day 7 days a week, unless previously coordinated with the Flight Supervisor or Director of Operations

*

Prepare and publish the daily flight schedule, taking into account the following factors:

*

Aircraft planned maintenance requirements, and inspection tolerances

*

Special equipment requirements to meet the customer’s objectives

*

Aircrew scheduling in accordance with 14 § CFR Part 135 Subpart F, L3 FI Operations Manual, and the Crew Scheduling Procedure Document.

*

Aircrew currency and training requirements

*

Management of contracted flight hours for sub-contractors

*

Coordinate with the customer to obtain mission profiles, timelines, and other pertinent information

*

Prepare and present a weekly draft at the Weekly Planning Meeting

*

Maintain crew schedules including time off request, sorties flown, and sorties cancelled

*

Prepare and distribute flight details to the aircrews including customer requirements and mission profiles

*

Assist aircrews with the administrative preparations for flight operations at locations other than Newport News. In particular:

*

Customer requirements

*

Coordinate base visit requests

*

Obtain Prior Permission Request (PPR) number assignments for operations at military airfields

*

Coordinate with the Maintenance department

*

Coordinate with the Parts department for fly away kits

*

Prepare and maintain the Daily Aircraft Listing Report IAW 14 § CFR 135.63 (a) (3)

*

Track utilization and disposition of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)

*

Organize the navigation publications for distribution

*

During business hours be alert and respond to any calls made on the company radio frequency

*

Maintain databases and Outlook contact groups with current customer and pilot contact information

*

Maintain the Authorization to Embark Roster

*

Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot or Director of Operations

Position type and expected hours of work

This position is a full time position that works Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is on call 24/7. On occasion you will be required to stay later or come in over the weekend to accommodate business needs.

No travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Required education and experience

Bachelor’s Degree plus two years’ experience, OR Associates Degree plus six years of related experience (four of which must be related exempt experience), OR H/S Diploma plus ten years related experience (four of which must be related exempt experience)

Preferred experience

*

Previous military aviation experience or experience with military airfield operations

Security clearance

Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance, current Security Clearance preferred

Work environment & physical demands

This job primarily operates in an office environment where you’ll be required to use typical office equipment. This job is a sedentary position. You will perform substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, primarily for typing. You must have close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and visual inspection involving small defects.
