The Program Quality Engineer will act as the Quality interface including customer and internal management communication, reviews and presentations for the assigned Program. The individual will provide expertise between the organization and both internal/external customers to ensure their requirements and expectations are satisfied. The Program Quality Engineer will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement for the assigned Program.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

* Writing BOE’s and supporting Proposals
* First Article Reviews
* Manage customer issues in a timely professional manner
* Responsible for resolving critical issues/situations ensuring they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guidelines
* Source Inspections supporting DCMA activities both internally and externally at suppliers
* Updating the Quality Swim lane for Standard Work
* Support/Participate in Program Reviews, including but not limited to: PDR, CDR
* Familiarity with Product Safety Programs and provide support in the quality function
* Experience with Preliminary Review (PR) & Material Review Board (MRB) activities
* Review & approve engineering drawings & changes
* Lead or participate in preventative and corrective actions
* Provide support relative to the collection and analysis of Program quality data
* Provide expertise and participate in process improvement tools and methods
* Develop/implement and auditing of inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures / work instructions
* Facilitate the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems and follow-up on corrective actions
* Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas of the organization
* Provide support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions, and process audits with the objective of improving the process performance and capability
* Participate in and lead Manufacturing Process Reviews
* Create/Review Data Packs
* Writing / evaluating QMS procedures
* Execute the initiatives of the organization
* Any other special assignment as required

This position will report to the Space Systems Rockford Quality Manager.

Qualification:

*Experience / Qualifications

Experience with Program Quality Engineering

* Experience with QA systems such as AS9100,ISO, Conducting Internal Audits
* Being able to manage Rejection Tags and Corrective Action is a requirement
* Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspections (FAI)
* Self motivated with a passion for QA and proven problem solving ability
* Six sigma experience or LEAN, knowledge of Lean Product Development (LPD) and Continuous Improvement (CI) is preferred but not required; including experience working within an environment that embraces the daily use of these tools
* Enhance and support teamwork
* Strong PC skills with proficiency in the following MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project or project Management Software
* Experience with RCCA's both internally and at supplier facilities
* Required experience with printed circuit board assemblies
* Required experience with electronic controllers
* Experience working with design & electrical engineers
* Travel required: 10-20%
Due to federal contracts US citizenship required

Experience / Qualifications

Education:

*Education / Certifications

Education – BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field Required, MA/MS Preferred
5-10+ yr.'s experience

Industry Experience – Aerospace, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality

ASQ Certification and/or Six Sigma Black Belt is desirable 6 Sigma and/or Lean is encouraged
