QA Inspector

Job Description:

QA inspector inspects, tests, and samples materials, and products for defects and any deviations from specifications to ensure quality standards.

First piece, in-process and final inspection of manufactured parts and completed assemblies. Select from a wide variety of standard methods to check dimensions, hole locations, squareness, surface relationships, and similar characteristics. Stop production when defects become excessive. Document inspection results.

Maintain gage calibration system by keeping appropriate documentation and providing calibration and minor repairs of gages.

Provide inspection support for special projects and prototypes, present data in organized format.

Providing inspection support for shop floor.

Evaluation of returned product.

Back-up to Receiving Inspection functions.

Follow all requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System as documented through System Procedures and Work Instructions.

Job Requirements:

The candidate should demonstrate above-average ability in blueprint reading and measuring skills, and a thorough understanding of general machining practices.

Basic knowledge of algebra and trigonometry extremely helpful.

Ability to budget and manage time, work with minimum supervision.

Continuing education and training will be a requirement.

Working knowledge of Word, Excel and MAPICS helpful.

Knowledge of SPC and GD&T helpful.

CMM operator.

Short-term reassignment may be required to back up other Quality positions.

Associates degree preferred
