Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in aviation sciences, quality systems, business or related field or a combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 8 years experience in business system audits, contracts, program management, manufacturing and quality. At least 4 years are in a supervisory capacity of an audit group. Aerospace industry experience preferred.
The incumbent will serve as the company point of contact for our documented business management system and any issues related to its administration or modification, compliance both internally by our functional departments, and externally to customer and government requirements. This individual will assure a more efficient administration of external compliance audits by enhancing the expertise and knowledge of our internal facilitator(s) and by accurate record keeping monitoring these type activities and avoiding redundancies with multiple audits in the same area. To manage the internal system audits the incumbent will need to prepare a schedule of all internal audits and report to management on status. To perform audits, a pool of auditors will need to be developed. These auditors must be provided adequate training to assure effective audits are performed and the functional managers responsible for departments being audited are being assessed fairly and problems identified are worthy of action and correction. This position is responsible for maintaining a documented procedure(s) describing our management assurance system with the intent of performing audits of our business systems to verify compliance to established procedures, evaluate effectiveness of such, and act to improve and correct as required to enhance quality, improve productivity or reduce costs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Coordinate scheduling and manpower audit assignments. 2. Monitor workflow and progress and ensure that standards/expectations are met during the performance of all audits. 3. Coordinate activity with other departments and/or disciplines. 4. Develop the Audit group budget requirements to include travel. 5. Interpret and execute company policies and procedures. 6. Support and promote the operating priorities as identified by the leadership team. 7. Manage all aspects of assigned quality personnel to include hiring, work assignments, workspace and equipment, training, performance appraisals, career development and counseling to include resource budgeting. 8. Administer, manage and coordinate the activities of an internal audit system which provides effective assessment of company business systems. 9. Select, train, and maintain a pool of auditors. 10. Schedule and oversee the internal audit process. 11. Work closely with functional managers to assure effectiveness of audits and quality of corrective actions. 12. Report on status of audit program and corrective actions to top management. 13. Provide a single point of contact for GAC management assurance program for customer/government audits. 14. Act as the focal point/administrator for external third party audits.
Additional Functions: 1. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements: 1. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years for a Masters Degree and 4 years for a PhD in fields applicable to this position. 2. Certified Lead Auditor required along with relevant experience leading an audit group. 3. Certified Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. 4. ASQ Certification (CQA) preferred. 5. Familiar with ISO 9001 and AS 9100. 6. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of FAA regulations, CATIA and Solumina preferred. 7. Thorough knowledge of quality policies, procedures and all related technical data required. 8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. 9. Proficient computer skills.
