Job Description

This Quality Manager position for Special Projects Dallas (SPD) is responsible for all aspect of Quality required for multiple programs in varying stages of the product lifecycle. The position reports to the SPD Program Manager and will be located in Dallas, Texas. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing quality engineering and technical activities on or in support of programs through all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Develops quality strategies and plans in support of new business acquisition and execution of program/business plans.
  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System.
  • Acquires and manages resources, provides quality technical management and leads performance improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports, providing influence, oversight, and approval of Quality approaches, products, and processes. 
  • Oversees review of technical information to ensure quality and producibility.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Provides supplier quality flow down and creates oversight when needed.
  • Leads the program in adhering to Boeing’s Quality System and shifting the SPD team to First Time Quality for all aspects of product development and sustainment. 
  • Interacts with Navy, DCMA, and Industry Quality leaders.

Candidates should have proven capability in establishing First Time Quality on past efforts and in communicating and collaborating with similar organizations to achieve the Programs strategic objectives.

Qualifications 
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • More than 5 years of experience managing employees within a Quality Organization.
  • More than 5 years of experience managing Quality processes and tools.
  • Experience managing a cross-functional or cross-organizational team.
This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Preferred candidate must hold a current Top Secret Clearance or an equivalent.  Note: A Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) granted within the last 5 years is equivalent to a Top Secret clearance. Also, if your Top Secret clearance has not been administratively terminated for two years or if you held a Top Secret clearance within the last two years, your clearance is considered current. Resumes must clearly contain your security clearance level along with date and type of your last clearance investigation.
 
This position also requires the ability to obtain program access in a time frame established by program management.
Typical Education / Experience: 
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
