Position Description

Summary: The R&D Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical hardware architecture, design, and development for a diverse array of Medical Electronic, Laboratory, and Life Sciences equipment.

Position Responsibilities:
The key duties for which the employee is accountable are as follows:

• Electrical system architecture
• Analog, Digital, Mixed-Signal, and high frequency circuit design
• Schematic development, simulation, and PCB design
• Firmware or driver development as necessary
• Design for EMC, manufacturing, and regulatory compliance
• Collaboration with Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing
• Leverage supplier relationships to identify the optimal components and solutions for products
• Self-management of tasks and deliverables to achieve project goals
• Technical documentation

Position Requirements

Position Requirements:
The education, experience, skills and training required of the employee for this position are as follows:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree in Electrical engineering a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of design and development experience
• Hands on, self-directed, self-starter able to understand project scope and act to achieve deliverables
• Continuous improvement mindset with a drive for process improvement
• Expertise in digital, power, and analog circuits.
• Expertise in designing for EMI, RFI, ESD
• Experience developing embedded software
• Ability to work in both a cross-functional group environment and individually
• Ability to multitask, manage risk, and creatively identify, analyze and solve problems

Additional Desirable Knowledge:

• Manufacturing experience
• IoT experience
• Experience with creative problem solving
• Experience developing products for international markets
• FDA-regulated medical device design and development
• Altium Schematic and PCB Design tools
• Assembly, C/C++ programming experience
• Experience with 8, 16 and 32 bit microcontrollers, power supplies, camera systems, programmable logic such as FPGAs or CPLDs, communication protocols such as I2C, RS232, SPI, USB, high speed digital design, LCDs and touch screens, wireless communications and networking, RF and antennas
