This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the AMGH RoIP network and radio communications for all AMGH companies. Under direction of the Senior Radio Technician and/or Network Engineer responsible for AMGH RoIP systems, the Radio Network Engineer will assist in the administration of the WAVE RoIP system. The Radio Network Engineer will be responsible for the construction, programming, installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of new and existing communication systems. Including electronic equipment such as radio control units, repeaters, base stations, mobile and portable radios and dispatch console hardware/software and RoIP networking equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Required Responsibilities

*

Install, test, modify and adjust communications equipment (e.g. network switches, routers and two-way radios) in support of the AMGH RoIP system.

*

Strong technical background understanding VoIP, VPN’s, DNS, LAN, WAN, MPLS, Firewalls, Routing and Switching related to Cisco.

*

Provide highly skilled technical guidance/input for the RoIP network as well as security planning, engineering and architecture.

*

Plan and evaluate existing RoIP network infrastructure and make recommendations for future growth to maintain and/or expand and improve service levels.

* Stay current with emerging technologies, and contribute to product evaluations/reviews.

*

Interface with vendors, as needed, to identify, purchase and install new hardware and software solutions.

*

Work across all IT teams to effectively upgrade, develop and implement RoIP solutions.

*

Develop and oversee the successful creation of documentation, Visio diagrams and design documents for WAVE networking and RoIP landscape

*

Assist with day to day operations of the RoIP Network environment and team.

*

Assist with the successful completion of all RoIP network and related projects including maintenance and upgrades.

*

Operate and monitor two-way radio and electronic equipment; (e.g. measure frequency, modulation and power output of radios, adjust transmitters and receivers for maximum efficiency to comply with all applicable regulations

*

Construct, assemble, install and maintain standard and custom communications equipment at tower sites and bases of operation within the AMGH footprint.

*

Install, service and repair two-way radio and electronic equipment both in the field and in the radio shop.
