Job Description

Boeing is seeking a Real Time Software Engineer to work closely with Systems and Test engineers in a collaborative, team environment to support bomber aircraft.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and unit test real-time embedded avionics software for Bomber aircraft
  • Integrate code into a fully functional software system
  • Investigate software problem reports resulting from testing and technical inquiries from the users
  • Participate effectively in team, customer, and user meetings
  • Participate in the development of software estimates. Work under general supervision.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be able to develop new ideas based on technical and domain experience
  • Must possess a solid foundation in computer science
  • Must be able to demonstrate competencies in data structures and algorithms
  • Must have a genuine desire to develop software to solve unique problems
  • Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong collaborative skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication is required

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ada development experience
  • Unix development experience
  • Green Hills Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) experience
  • ClearCase/ClearQuest/CVS/Sherlock experience
  • Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Active US Secret clearance

Typical Education & Experience:

 

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
