SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
This Reliability/Maintainability Engineering position is in support of the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of commercial aircraft (e.g., 737/767/319/320/321/CRJ, etc.). Specifically, the position is responsible for improving the on-wing time of the airlines through the implementation of component reliability upgrades and/or maintenance practice improvements.  The selected candidate will be required to perform analyses to identify component performance trends; perform root cause analysis on poorly performing components; develop solutions in conjunction with the original equipment manufacturer and/or repair vendor, prepare and present the business case for the recommended changes.  
 
Communication
Proficiency in English, both verbal and writing skills a must.

Systems Thinking
Ability to formulate change strategies; seeks input from others to evaluate options for change to develop a team solution.
 
Analytical Skills
Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources; perform comprehensive FRACAS on failed components.

Engineering Knowledge & Comprehension
Complete knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and systems with ability to read, understand and interpret engineering technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), industry standards and specifications).
 

 

Qualifications
 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION 

Minimum of 2 years of previous experience applying Reliability/Maintainability engineering principles during either the development or sustainment phases aircraft component programs.
- Experience in aircraft component as a design, manufacturing or reliability engineer.
- Ability to manage projects of medium difficulty with guidance from project leader.
- Previous experience in the Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) discipline.
Develops engineering solutions to repetitive component failures. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer must be capable of:
  • Data analysis techniques that can include:
    •  Statistical process control
    •   Reliability modeling and prediction
    •   Fault tree analysis
    •   Lean concept & methodology familiarization
    •   Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
    •   Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS)
- MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, Power Point)
- May be required to travel to customers sites up to 25% of the time.
