Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Understand fare filing for Southwest-initiated sales; participate in sale planning/execution process including, but not limited to, attending weekly Sale Planning Meeting, collaborating with Global Analysis Team on market/price point selection, collaborating with Yield Management on availability checks, communication with Yield Management/Marketing on sale terms and conditions as-needed, monitoring of competitor responses, and sale cancellation.

 

Monitor competitive fare data and report findings to the Tactical Pricing Team Manager and other members of senior management as necessary.

 

Monitor and analyze the competitive environment, staying apprised of all industry issues pertaining to pricing and routing initiatives.

 

Analyze competitive matches to other airline sales as prescribed by Southwest strategy developed collaboratively between Global Analysis, Market Strategy, and Yield Management.

 

Understand internal reporting of carrier fare and rule actions on a transmission-by-transmission basis.

 

Assess outcome of pricing actions regarding their effect on the market, competitive environment as a result, and from a revenue perspective.

 

Identify areas related to pricing where execution deviates from prescribed strategy and implement solutions in a timely manner.

 

Analyze market performance and determine proactive price adjustments to improve ailing markets.

 

Collaborate with yield regularly with respect to analyst-initiated fares.

 

Build/modify decision trees for pricing operations associates as markets change.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Progress towards degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math, or Business related field.

 

Minimum junior level.

 

To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours.)

 

Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.
