This position is responsible for facilitating the development of new market strategies, finding new business opportunities, and maintaining existing accounts for the assigned region. This position is expected to take over the sales responsibility for an assigned outside sales territory that will require relocation after a two-year training period. Product responsibility includes: motors (AC, DC, Servo, Brushless), Gearboxes, Controllers, Drives, and other types of Linear systems that are custom engineered solutions into a diverse customer base (light automation, semiconductor, robotics, medical devices, laboratory automation, etc.).
This position will initially be based in the greater Chicago, IL, area for two years, and will require travel to Europe for training at the Business Unit Headquarters (Germany) and factories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all aspects of the sales process and customer relations for the accounts located in the assigned territory.
Work with distribution and small OEM customers to facilitate the sales process.
Work with advertising and market implementation plans set forth by the company, which include but are not limited to: lead generation, lead qualification, lead follow-up, and trade show participation.
Provide written reports back to the company on all customer contacts or developments of significance.
Provide quarterly business reviews for the assigned territory in the format specified by the sales manager.
Participate in the company’s annual sales forecast for the fiscal year.
Work under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager with a minimum amount of supervision.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a technical or related field from an accredited educational institution; 1-3 years’ direct sales experiences; and/or combination of education and experience.
Electrical or Mechanical engineering degree and/or background preferred.
Experience and/or knowledge of component based products, motors (brushless, brushed, DC, AC), drives, linear actuators, linear and/or rotary motion and power transfer desired.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally; frequent overnight stays as the needs of the customers in the territory dictate.
Excellent interpersonal skills & inter-cultural openness with a global team.
Excellent working knowledge of engineering and sales principles.
Willing to work outside and beyond standard office hours (8:00AM – 5:00PM Mon-Fri) when the situation warrants.
