Job Description

Responsible for the efficient and accurate reporting of all sales and revenue activity for revenue accounting and statistical purposes. Responsible for reconciling accounting entries across multiple systems to ensure processes are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls, as well as internal and external audit requirements.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and/or validate revenue disbursements and/or statistical information from various applications, ensure accurate and timely revenue bookings and disbursement of payments to vendors/partners
  • Provide support for general ledger (GL) revenue booking and account reconciliation
  • Communicate with IT for troubleshooting and problem solving related to automated systems and applications; provide accounting support to IT as needed
  • Develop automation solutions for process enhancements including testing and implementation
  • Assist Manager as needed for special projects and report creation
  • Analyze trends and provide statistical reporting to senior management, government entities, vendors, and customers
  • Coordinate with Sales and IT regarding implementation and testing of marketing initiatives and promotional programs as related to revenue bookings, customer invoicing, and other accounting processes
  • Provide input on contract negotiations with vendors as needed
  • Provide feedback via statistical reporting to Customer Service and Sales with regard to customer issues, DOT compliance, and Station Handling issues
  • Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley controls, internal and external audit requirements; interacts with internal and external auditors as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • Work experience appropriate to gain extensive knowledge of Accounting and GL reporting
  • Working experience appropriate to gain extensive knowledge of airline or related industry processing/reporting (i.e., curerncy conversions, customer regulations, taxes, security compliance, etc.)
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications, Mapper, and Oracle; advanced spreadsheet skills (i.e, compilation, graphs, charts, macros, etc.)
  • Proven team leader
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as with external vendors at all levels
  • Innovative thinking ability with a high degree of motivation
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, shift priorities, meet deadlines, balance the big picture with requisite details, and maintain flexibility
