The Sr. Applications Engineer will work closely with ZYGO’s sales, marketing and engineering teams while interfacing with customers during pre and post sales activities. In this highly technical position you are expected to become an expert operator of ZYGO’s optical metrology instrumentation and have the ability to define the optimum solution to meet the specific requirements of a metrology application.
The responsibilities include:
•Learn how to operate new and existing metrology products and become comfortable with their operation
•Sample testing of customer parts
•Write and/or review technical documentation such as applications notes and reference material for instrument operation
•Investigate new uses of ZYGO’s technology
•Keep abreast of new industry developments, trends and applications
•Assess the performance of ZYGO products from a user’s point of view
•Assist the sales team in the development of system proposals with test data, system performance qualification or other technical requirements
ZYGO Corporation is a worldwide supplier of optical metrology instruments, precision optics, and electro-optical design and manufacturing services serving customers in the semiconductor capital equipment, bio-medical, scientific and industrial markets.
BS in engineering or physics plus 5-7 years experience .
Optical metrology experience is desired
Knowledge of metrology instruments, electronics and software helpful.
Good written and oral communication skills are required.
