American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for Senior Developer, IT Applications to perform the following duties: Responsible for analyzing system requirements and design and document solutions using enterprise approved tools including Microsoft Visio and Rally. Design, develop, and implement software solutions using Java programming and agile methodology. Identify and implement test automation across various sections of websites to ensure high quality and high availability to the customers. Develop Junit tests to ensure code quality using Test Driven Development methodology. Create framework for continuation integration of the code to ensure the integrity of software applications. Design and develop integration tests to ensure the connectivity of the external systems. Create detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates. Develop web-based high transactional customer facing websites. Provide technical support on the creation of detailed program design specifications for high complexity user interfaces, application enhancements, new functionality, and backend processes in collaboration with customers. Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; identify and implement solutions. Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance including converting from Struts to Spring framework. Provide technical input on improving performance and error handling. Identify improvements and best practices in developing and delivering solutions. Implement programming best practices to maintain code quality. Work with software architects to ensure decision meet long-term enterprise needs. Lead UI technical solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial explorations through final design deliverables such as screen layouts, user interface elements, and prototypes. Participate in peer-to-peer code reviews and software development community practices.
Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience as a software developer/engineer, programmer, or analyst and demonstrated experience in web technologies: Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Spring-taglib, Spring Web Flow and Spring Mobile Java/JSP, XML, XSD, AJAX, JSON, jQuery, JQueryUI, JSTL, Struts-taglib, Apache Tiles, Struts MVC, SOA, Web Services, WSDL, tcServer, and NodeJS; analyze errors and identify problems in the code using DynaTrace; test-driven development using Junit; Integration testing using Fitnesse; UI testing using Selenium and Xebium; Behavior driven development; Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques and principles to create and maintain a quality-first codebase; CSS media queries, responsive web design and adaptive web design; Responsive frameworks including Foundation and Bootstrap; Client side templating tools Handlebars and Thymeleaf; Accessibility implementation using WGAC 2.0 and Section 508 standards. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a master’s and 3 years of experience.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
