Description
  • Support In-Flight Vice President’s vision, tactics and strategies throughout the company
  • Execute strategies within In-Flight and in conjunction with the appropriate departments (e.g. Product Development, Marketing). Communicate and implement the appropriate programs for In-Flight while improving service quality, consistency and cost
  • Execute strategies within In-Flight and in conjunction with the appropriate departments (e.g. Product Development, Marketing). Communicate and implement the appropriate programs for In-Flight while improving service quality, consistency and cost
  • Execute and manage In-Flight’s performance against clear, aggressive, but achievable performance targets, improvements in cost, quality, and measured customer service levels, to ensure the ongoing delivery and enhancement of the Hawaiian Airlines in-flight experience
  • Ensure the effective use of communication vehicles (e.g. web site, email, in-person). Participate in the formulation and support of In-Flight’s communication strategies
  • Support VP in Flight Attendant recruitment, and act as liaison for In-Flight in the FA recruiting process, supporting the Vice President as needed
  • Work cohesively with the Senior Director of In-Flight Bases and the corresponding management teams, to drive improvements in both the customer and employee experience, with the goal of consistent and high standards of service delivery and productivity
  • Provide oversight and guidance to In-Flight Management teams with all regulatory compliance and safety related issues
  • Provide oversight and guidance to In-Flight Management teams who develop and implement rigorous service delivery approaches and standards to ensure a higher level of procedural and, therefore, service consistency in the cabin
  • Represent the In-Flight department internally and externally to the In-Flight airline industry and its various participants as appropriate
  • Support In-Flight Vice President in developing, negotiating, maintaining and reporting against the annual operating budget for department. Manage cost performance against assigned budgets, report on and explain variances, perform regular and timely reporting on In-Flight’s financial and operating performance
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by VP
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent
  • 5 years experience in the airline industry
  • 5 years of supervisory/management experience
  • Excellent track record as a manager/director/leader; proven ability to effectively lead teams, support peers and affect change
  • Demonstrated skill as a communicator and team builder; proven ability to balance the development of a high performing team with the spirit of `ohana
  • Track record as a change manager and thought leader; must have the ability to influence through both words and actions
  • Experience in the development and production of officer-level presentations

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-Flight experience
  • Experience managing a large departmental budget
