The Senior EE Technical Designer at Kennedy Space Center will have the following experience:

* Planning, sequencing, and installation of flight wire harnesses integrated with the build of multiple test vehicles

* Close coordination and collaboration with management, manufacturing personnel, technicians and others as required.

* Ensuring accurate installation per released engineering

* Resolving installation problems/issues

* Perform Post installation testing

* Perform Bench and on-vehicle testing

* Develop of test procedures in support of above mentioned tasks

* Review technical specification and updates to released engineering applicable to wire harness design and installation

* Perform wire harness development, to include drawing development/release and vendor interface

* Provides engineering disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests)

* Will follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities

* Aerospace power/data MIL-STD and IPC design development, manufacturing assembly, and re-work/repair

* Experience with Wire Harness Assemblies to include selection of; wire/cable, overbraid, insulation, connectors, contacts, splices/terminals, passive/active electronic components, backshells, and strain reliefs

* Serves as the subject matter expert for the development, maintenance and release of electrical/mechanical drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation and data by applying Company, industry and governmental standards for multiple customers

* Proposes innovative solutions for emergent technical issues

* Uses design tools to document and maintain configuration control of designs

* Manages, creates, develops and maintains highly complex or specialized systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and integrating systems elements

* Directs validation of complex engineering system design and functionality

* Leads the process for product installation designs and part designs ranging from simple to complex

* Coordinates activities and products with cross-functional groups, internal partners and external suppliers

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required):

* This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

* Minimum of 5 years experience with CCTS procedures and drawing templates

* Minimum of 8 years experience with planning, sequencing, and installation of flight wire harnesses

* Minimum of 10 years of hands on experience with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing/analysis/mitigation

* Experience with 3D Modeling and 2D Tools

* Minimum of 5 years experience with post installation testing

* Experience with space flight avionics/electrical data systems

* Experience with NASA and Boeing standards for cable and electrical system installation and testing

Assets (Preferred):

* Familiar KSC launch operations

Typical Education and Experience:

Level 5

AA degree in related discipline and typically 9 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
