Leading aircraft company are seeking a Senior Engineer to join in the very early stage of an ejectable flight data recorder project, which has been officially established with FAA and EASA. This role will provide expertise in the area of Flight Data Recorders (FDR), Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT) regarding system specification and integration etc. This is a critical role for the project and will run through the whole development process. Key Responsibilities include:

* Acting as technical expert for flight data recording covering data recording requirements, conformity, decomposition and integration.
* Authoring and reviewing flight data recording related documents.
* Proving expertise to product development team design for design and certification constraints.

You will be an Senior Engineer within the aerospace industry and have considerable experience and expertise in flight data recorders and/or cockpit voice recorder systems, with knowledge of Emergency Transmitter Locators a plus.

This will include a solid understanding of industry guidance and regulations associated with FDR/CVR and data links and knowledge of airworthiness regulations like FAR 91.609 etc.

This is an initial 12 month contract, working on a long-term project, so work is likely to extend for at least 2 years.
