Job Summary

The Rockwell Collins Display Applications department is seeking an innovative, fun spirited, challenge driven, morale boosting leader to join the leadership team as a Senior Engineering Manager!

Job Responsibilities

This Senior Engineering Manager will lead a team of systems and software engineers in the design, development, verification, and strategic planning of display applications for government systems airborne flight deck platforms. This team is responsible for the development of Flight Display Software and Engine Indication and Crew Alerting software.

Candidate must have experience in leading a team of subsystems/software engineers, full software lifecycle experience on new technology programs, working knowledge of software in embedded systems, requirements management tools, and have strong interpersonal skills. Candidate must be capable of leading an organization focused on building and expanding common product solutions.

The successful candidate must be able to apply their technical expertise to train and coach their team members to achieve program and department goals. Focus for the candidate will be on employee development (coaching, mentoring and career development), technical expertise, process compliance, and resource management. The position demands an ability and willingness to spend time on day-to-day employee development, talent acquisition/retention, performance management and strategic support of the business. This leader should be highly motivated, have a passion to win and flexibility while working in a fast-paced engineering environment across a matrixed organization.

Basic Qualifications

In order to serve in this role, the successful candidate must have knowledge or experience in the following areas:

* Leading a team in defining requirements, developing software architecture and design, and performing software verification.
* Embedded software development using MBD, C and/or Ada.
* Leading a team in performing software development while adhering to a rigorous formal development process, such as DO-178B.
* Project planning and performance of project cost, schedule, and scope management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can be used to support bid and proposal activities, to interface with both internal and external customers, and collaborate with program management and senior management across all business areas within Government Systems.

Addiitonal Requirements:

* US Citizenship
* Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
* Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

Preferred requirements:

* Knowledge of ProLine Fusion FDSA and EICAS domains
* Previous experience as a CAM, IPT or Product Owner
