Apply technical techniques, principles and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical and communications for associated support equipment installed in aircraft. This position maintains repairs, inspects, troubleshoots, or programs systems equipment or components. Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares or applies engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures. Organizes, analyzes and prepares reports or presentations of technical data and information. Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components. Compiles, processes, reduces, or analyzes test data and results.
Education: High school graduation or equivalency certification and Completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum. A BS in technical field or equivalent experience with four years military service in electronics I-Level field is desired.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years as an E-2C/D Systems Analyst/Technician/Operator in tactical data links, satellite and voice communications is required. Must show proficiency in identifying various targets made available to the tactical weapons station. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating the airborne Cooperative Engagement Capability and Identification Friend or Foe systems as well as familiar with air intercept capability. Operational experience and knowledge of NIFC-CA, LVC and Flight Test exercises is desired. Joint Service Platform Interoperability background highly desired. A strong background in the use of Multi-Domain Oscilloscope, RF Signal Analyzer, RF Power/Watt meter, Arbitrary Waveform Generator, Soldering equipment, Network/Spectrum Analyzer and Multifunction multi-meters is desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have the ability to apply analytical concepts of mission requirement to achieve mission objectives. Must have the ability to perform equipment diagnostics, troubleshoot and repair electronic systems. Must be able to interpret technical documents e.g. wiring schematics, technical white papers, engineering reports, fabricate specialty equipment and effect repair on circuit boards and components as needed. Should be knowledgeable in the use of Link Host Simulator, Gateway Terminal Emulator and Common Connectivity Device systems.
