The Senior Accounting Analyst ·creates monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and financial forecast reports and ensures financial information has been recorded timely and accurately in accordance with published calendar and documented procedures. He/She will also be responsible for ad hoc requests, projects, ESOX Testing, manual check processing and certain inventory processes utilizing ACE tools in order to improve results.
This position provides the candidate with a unique opportunity to interface and work with the site cross functionally. While in this role, the ideal candidate will provide guidance and analysis in the areas of Accounting, Forecasting Analysis, Budgeting,, and Variance Analysis used in the execution of the military programs supporting multiple platforms (F -15, F-16, F-18, V22 etc.) .
The Financial Analyst will become an integral part of the Finance team reporting directly to the Site Controller providing advice, consultation and analysis, budgeting and program performance. Post Close – will prepare and analyze account variances to ensure adequate forecasting. Provide support related to monthly revenue journal entries, account recs, etc. as requested by internal and external auditors.
Support Monthly PDPR reviews and preparation activities, support on-going compliance, internal and external audits and/or periodic process audits (e.g. DCAA, DCMA ); ensure the proper use of standardized processes, tools, and reports.
Qualified candidates need to be able to communicate effectively and coordinate between a diverse team of individuals. The Senior Analyst needs to be detailed and customer focused to ensure that the team meets the aggressive demands of this military programs site.
Qualifications Strong analytical, problem-solving and trending skills and the ability to drive tasks to completion.
Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and all levels of management
Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. ACE, QCPC)
Knowledge of our Financial toolsets (SAP, HFM, MS Excel)
Strong accounting, problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work with and analyze large data sets to draw relevant conclusions
Proficiency with Excel utilizing technical formulas and familiarity with other MS Office programs including Outlook & Access
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Superior follow-up and follow-through skills
Ability to identify and promote process improvement opportunities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment meeting deadlines with limited supervision
Education BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance with 2 - 5+ years’ accounting experience
MA/MS degree in Accounting or Finance with 0- 2+ years’ accounting experience
