Description

Take on a major role in one of Spirit’s Division Finance groups with the objective of developing and implementing budgets, reporting and tracking variances vs. forecast/plan and providing financial analysis support to division leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the annual budget process for the division:  Support the Division Finance Manager and division leaders in the creation of headcount, capital, and operating plans in accordance with FP&A guidelines. 
  • Deliver weekly financial forecasts:  Works with the Division Finance Manager to deliver weekly forecast updates for the division with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis:  Analytical review of the business using modeling, data collection and reporting, identifying trends and insights, and delivers accurate and complete reports.
  • Accounting:  Responsible for completing divisional accounting close items in accordance with corporate accounting as well as ongoing invoice processing for expenses within the division.
  • Process improvement and report automation: Continually looks for efficiencies in processes and reporting and works with business application owners and the Business Intelligence group to automate and enhance reports.
  • Develops expertise in all financial related systems:  Responsible for being the group expert in all systems used in financial analysis, which includes SAP/BPC, Bloomberg, RADAR, and other systems.

Required skills/experience:

  • Work-related experience in the airline industry preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP Financials or other large ERP systems.
  • Financial analysis and financial modeling experience required.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Information systems and data mining expertise.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • BA/BS Degree, MBA preferred.
  • 1-3+ years financial management experience.
  • CPA, CMA, and/or CFA preferred.
