Job Description

This role interacts with Project Management, Development, and Operations groups inside American Airlines and is responsible for planning solutions and ensuring they translate into actionable capabilities as they progress through the project management cycle.  Requires continuous learning and expansion of existing offerings in line with desired functions and capabilities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES Tasks, functions, deliverables, etc.

  • Assess requests from a technical perspective and determine alignment with existing capabilities or requirement for net new functionality
  • Proactively share information regarding risks and opportunities to build competitive advantages and create efficiencies
  • Gather requirements and develop solution to present as a "proof of concept"
  • Estimate level of involvement in terms of people, process, and technology considering infrastructure, licenses, development and support
  • Respond to RFI/RFP to determine how the solution must be developed in line with strategic direction
  • Develop and provide technical solution presentations to both internal and external stakeholders tailoring content to match opportunity and audience
  • Document and share telecommunication infrastructure architecture and network topology
  • Build vendor and partner relationships in the field
  • Remain current with industry trends
  • Capture, document, and implement standard technology offerings
  • Detail possible new functionality with complete requirements
  • Interact with project and development teams to assist in prioritizing slated projects
  • Act as a technical interface with businesses, internal teams, supplier partners, end-users, and solution providers to ensure processes and tools are in place and/or are followed to support the environment and meet business needs
  • Developing and maintain an application integration architecture blueprint for the department organization


Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus six years’ experience directly related to role responsibilities or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Directly related education, training and experience includes:

  • Proven delivery in application design/ development of multi-tiered enterprise solutions, required
  • Extensive experience with Enterprise VOIP (SIP), Telephony, and CTI, required
  • Experience with Genesys and Sonus/SBC routing platforms, required
  • Technical knowledge of networking and routing, required
  • Experience with Project management in a contact center IT setting, required
  • Contact center operations or delivery in 24-by-7 multi-center environment, required
  • Previous experience in creating IT strategy and roadmaps and translating them into action plans
  • Experience leading the definition and adoption of architecture engagement models and best practices, while promoting and communicating their value proposition
  • Experience leading cross-company collaboration and partnerships, while communicating to a variety of constituencies, external and internal
  • Experience with translating technical aspects into non-technical acumen
  • Experience advising or training Development and Project teams
  • Vendor and contractor management
  • Knowledge and familiarity with ITIL methodology
  • Handling multiple inputs in a high pressure, dynamic environment
  • Analysis and problem solving – demonstrated ability to recognize issues and develop effective solutions
