Position Overview

Reports to the Director, Emergency Planning and Response.

With general direction from the Director of Emergency Planning and Response, takes initiative to oversee and manage the processes and procedures to design, implement and maintain an effective Business Continuity (BC) program within Hawaiian Airlines. Ensures
Hawaiian Airlines is prepared to respond to man-made or natural disasters.

Key Responsibilities

* Serves as the primary point of contact for all HA business continuity coordinators within all HA divisions

* Responsible for developing the corporate Business Continuity (BC) program, to include short and long-term objectives

* Ensures Business Impact Analysis (BIA) are conducted for all HA departments by guiding each division’s risk and business impact analyses

* Implements departmental policies and procedures to facilitate an effective Business Continuity program

* Ensures and assists HA departmental and airport coordinators in developing their individual Business Continuity Plans (BCP)

* Develops BC Corporate Manual for Hawaiian Airlines
* Develops pandemic, natural and manmade disaster emergency response plans
* Develops and facilitates BC training methodology to the plan owners within all HA divisions and airport stations

* Coordinates with local and national CDC offices as necessary to ensure HA is prepared to respond to public health issues affecting passengers. traveling onboard Hawaiian Airlines flights

* Develops checklists/pamphlets for response to natural & manmade Disasters and pandemics (EOC and Field)

* Conducts Corporate & Station BC Drills for natural and manmade disasters and pandemics

* Acts in Coordination with Director of ER to lead activities when EOC activated for exercises or actual event

* Coordination and liaison with government and local disaster emergency management groups (FEMA, HEMA, ARC, etc.)

* Works collaboratively with stakeholder Disaster Recovery Teams and ER Teams to ensure business resumption strategies, goals and initiatives are aligned

* Works with Airport Operations to develop a Business Continuity resources and checklists to be used at HA stations and incorporated into their accident/incident emergency response plan

* Develops processes and checklists for Business Continuity Go Team (Above the Wing and Below the Wing personnel)

* Works with Airport Operations to develop Station Emergency Evacuation Contingency Plan

* Works closely with other airline business continuity managers, and aligns with government agencies

* Ensure departmental budget proposals allocate adequately for business continuity

* Meets regularly with departmental BC coordinators
* Reports regularly on status of BC plans to Director of Emergency Planning and Response

* Works with airports and facilities to prepare and maintain “Emergency GO Kits” that include emergency equipment

* Works with Procurement and Facilities to develop and maintain appropriate supplies of food, water, cots, blankets, etc. at key facilities

* Participates in all Emergency Response drills and provides oversight for EOC Coordinators in the event of an activation and deployment of Go Team


Minimum Requirements

* 5 years hands-on management of business continuity/emergency response programs, preferably with 14CFR Part 121 carrier

* Must have excellent managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills

* Must possess the ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision
* Should be proficient in Microsoft™ Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe™ Acrobat software

* Must demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Must be able to obtain and maintain an AOA badge
* Must be able to travel to both domestic and international locations; passport required

Preferred Qualifications

* Four-year college degree desired; extensive related work experience may be used in lieu of degree

* Holds a CBCP (Certificate Business Continuity Planning) or CFCP (Certified Functional Continuity Professional)

* Additionally, work experience in emergency response services, military or civil defense disaster planning/management highly desirable
