American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Senior Object-Oriented Programmer Analyst to perform the following duties: Develop solutions for the Integrated Operations Control and Airport Operations departments. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle using best practices in object-oriented techniques and Agile. Evaluate requirements and propose solutions with careful consideration to cost and impact with other systems. Develop and execute implementation plan for delivery of requested functionality. Review, create, and alter existing software and software artifacts to implement new requirements. Design, develop, and implement large-scale, highly available applications and participate in software design and peer code reviews. Support team members in analysis, architecture, design, development, build, deployment, and maintenance of systems.  Monitor performance and provide support of application after implementation, including providing training on how to use new or enhanced systems. Provide technical assistance to and partner with end users to understand and resolve problems.

Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field, plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or in software development or engineering plus demonstrated experience in: Web Technologies: J2EE, Spring, HTML, CSS, XML, Java Beans, Struts, Servlets, JSP, JavaScript, JQuery, Junit, JSON, Ajax; Back-end Technologies: Java, In-memory computation, REST/SOAP Web Service, WSDL, JAXB, JDBC, JMS;  RDBMS: Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server; Application Servers: Apache Tomcat Server, IBM WebSphere Application Server, BEA WebLogic Application Server; Build tools - Hudson/Jenkins, Gradle, ANT/Maven; SCM tools - Service Now, HP Quality Center, JIRA; Operating Systems: Windows, UNIX, LINUX; IDEs: Eclipse, SQL Management Studio, Toad, Oracle SQL Developer; Methodologies: OOPS, Agile, Scrum; and Development Techniques: UML, TDD, XP, Java Design Patterns. A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive experience will be accepted in the alternative.

 

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
