Job Description

The Senior Programmer Analyst, SuccessFactors HCM Modules, is a member of the HR Functions Development team, and part of the Employee Technology Department at American Airlines. This team helps American ‘go for great’ by innovatively supporting philosophy, process and tools as needed to support the HR lines of business. This position reports to the Senior Manager, HR Functions, and is responsible for designing, coding and testing technology solutions for SuccessFactors HCM Modules inclusive of Service Center, and Talent related ones.   • The SuccessFactors Technical Analyst is responsible for Development, Integration, Maintenance and support of SAP SuccessFactors HCM Modules.
  • Provide expertise in implementation planning, fit analysis, configuration, testing, rollout and post-implementation support of SuccessFactors HCM Modules.
  • Perform necessary configurations to satisfy new business and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of SuccessFactors product-suite configuration options, integration points, and best practices.
  • Interact with internal business customers and other members of the team on integration and re-engineering opportunities.
  • Ability to multi-task development, support and on-going maintenance projects and meet deadlines in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Deliver high quality, efficient solutions through innovative approaches to dynamic business processes.

  • Gather information, determine alternatives, functional/technical specifications, estimate development hours, create technical design, develop and troubleshoot programs to meet defined business needs.
  • Translate proposed business processes into correct SuccessFactors configuration.
  • Work with the project team to ensure that all SuccessFactors designs are correct and that customizations are only made as required by the business.
  • Ensure that if customizations are required that solutions are created according to SuccessFactors best practices.
  • Solve complex issues that arise with system operations, job monitoring, routine program modification, performance tuning or problem solving and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Define/implement workaround processes, corrective action, communication and system cleanup activities.
  • Formulate and execute positive and negative unit test plans and assist in developing system regression and performance test plans for enhancements or new releases in the various test and productive environments.

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology or related field.
  • At least 6+ years of related HR / Payroll programming experience including experience implementing HCM cloud applications in SuccessFactors.
  • Minimum of 2 successful SuccessFactors implementation/integration projects.
  • Expert in HR business process and in the areas of Performance, Goals, Talent, Recruiting / Onboarding, and Service Center. Display working knowledge in other SuccessFactors solutions (Employee Central).
  • Hands-on experience in SuccessFactors Admin Tool, HCM Modules, Business Execution (BizX), Customizations using Meta Data Framework (MDF) Cloud/Hybrid integration (Netweaver PI, Dell Boomi, Hana Cloud Integration) and social collaboration tools like SAP Jam.
