Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute strategies to minimize inventories within operational constraints and minimize fuel expense through strategic use of inventory, exchanges, and pipeline assets
  • All job duties revolve around bulk pipeline and marine vessel supply chains and volumes, relating to approximately 2,850,000 barrels annually
  • Manage inventory required for bulk shipments, moving inventory from off-airport to on-airport
  • Maintain a close working relationship with airport operators as you manage inventory levels, fuel sales and purchases
  • Understand issues of pipeline allocation, storage, and off-airport supply
  • Manage supply issues and prevent fuel outages
  • Accurately forecast demand/nominate volumes to suppliers/vendors in a timely fashion
  • Coordinate and manage contracts related to self-supply
  • Develop, coordinate and investigate alternative supply arrangements for into pipeline, into storage and via marine vessels
  • Manage supply security issues and recommend improvements or concerns

  • Minimize fuel expense through exchanges/spot sales to take advantage of geographic price changes
  • Understand, minimize, pay, and monitor tariffs, transmix, , pricing and any transportation related items for all self-supply locations to Fuel Finance and Fuel Supply
  • Coordinate evaluation of self-supply economics during bids
  • Manage vendor changes, station openings/closings, buying/selling stranded inventory
  • Recognize opportunities to store fuel and take advantage of seasonal opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to sell line space or construct exchanges to minimize costs
  • Work closely with Fuel Accounting to accurately track all transactional volume and prices on receipts, issues, sales and purchases; in addition to providing and validating month end paperwork and any supporting documentation
  • Coordinate just-in-time wire payments and invoice payments for each bulk transaction and sale
  • Micromanage balances directly with vendors, ensuring adjustments are made regularly on each shipment
  • Participate/contribute to other group objectives and miscellaneous projects

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Operations, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of experience in detail oriented position with direct experience scheduling pipelines under a high financial/operational risk environment
  • Working knowledge of bulk fuel supply chains, including common carrier and sole proprietary pipelines, port and marine vessel deliveries
  • Outstanding analytical thinking abilities
  • Excellent research skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to understand and manage complex processes
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously, while being able to adapt to change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as external contacts
  • Proficient and a strong comfort level in Excel, with working knowledge of other Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel a couple times a year
