L3 Technologies ESS Inc. We provide integrated and performance based logistics support, logistics management, supply chain management and technical solutions for air, land and naval platforms for defense applications.

Senior System Engineer (Projects) Aerospace

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The Project Engineer's responsibilities include schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource/budget forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. He/she will assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. He/she will develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with technical system matter experts, project managers, line managers, suppliers and customers. The Project Engineer will also be in charge of performance management of at least two subcontractors and assure the accuracy of financial forecasts, which tie-in to project schedules. Some of the keys responsibilities are:

* Responsible to coordinate, schedule and facilitate all of the activities of the assigned project or service requests. This includes all activities pertaining to study, planning, prototype design, prototype procurement, prototype installation and fleet procurement and fleet installation.

* Ensure full compliance with assigned AOP budget. Ensure cash flow, invoicing are all accurate. Monitor budget in accordance with internal and external constraints. Write justifications for project overspend or under spend if required. Write change request to project scope or budget if required. Follow subcontractors and major project spending.

* He or she should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Drive subcontractor solutions, schedules, and deliverables to align with project goals.

Qualifications

* Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or Bachelor of Computer Science.

* Minimum of 5 years of avionics or aerospace engineering experience.

* Minimum of 5 years of Project engineering experience.

* Knowledge of and experience in highly integrated avionics or aerospace systems essential.

* Experience in an In-Service Support role an asset.

* Must have some familiarity with the Canadian DND project management

* Must have demonstrated leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.

* Must be eligible for Canadian industrial security clearance, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances.

All successful applicants must be eligible to meet requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearance.

The successful applicant can expect to enjoy L3 ESS’s 9/80 Work Schedule—2 weeks’ work scheduled into 9 work days, resulting in every other Friday off. A comprehensive benefits package is also included.
