Position Description

Micro-Poise Measurement Systems a business unit of AMETEK is seeking a Shipping Manager for our Streetsboro, Ohio facility. This position is responsible for ensuring complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

•Planning and implementation of strategic work flow for finished goods and shipping

•Oversight of carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation

•Development of shipping department personnel in roles and responsibilities for logistics strategy and customer service culture

•Collaboration with internal departments to resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer shipping issues

•Preparation and filing of environmental certifications and renewal applications, hazardous material business plans and maintenance facility certificates and records

•Participation in business planning as a member of operational leadership team

•Preparation and presentation of oral and written reports on assigned metrics, department status and issue escalation/resolution

•Development of visible procedures, key performance indicators (KPI) and measurements to monitor quality and determine effectiveness of established shipping and distribution procedures

•Established goals relative to on-time delivery and shipping accuracy performance for customer shipments

•Improvement of operational efficiencies to increase ability to process customer orders using both systems and physical improvements

•Safety leadership with responsibility for improved safety performance throughout the facility

•Train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding global logistics strategies

•Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow

• Issue written and oral instructions. Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures

•Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers

•Confer with other managers to ensure coordination of timely shipments

•Ensure correct shipment of international orders and hazardous material orders

•Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis

•Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance

•Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

•Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years' in a supervisory role

•5-10 years’ progressive experience in a high volume shipping environment; shipping both domestically and internationally

•Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

•Intermediate computer skills; familiarity with MS Office environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)

•Intermediate to advanced project management skills; ability to build teams and promote collaboration

•Ability to develop, coach and manage personnel to obtain superior performance

•Intermediate to advanced experience with MRP systems for manufacturing, preferably Fourth Shift

•Advanced organization, prioritization and project management skills in a high volume, fast paced environment
