The Software Developer I is responsible for assisting the Media and Technology Management team, other FlightSafety personnel, Learning Centers and FlightSafety International Customers regarding various software and software tools, by performing the following duties:
Assist in the analysis and design phases of new and/or existing software development initiatives.
Develop, test and maintain multi-tier web applications and windows-based programs/utilities used by Learning Centers and FlightSafety International Customers.
Develop and maintain templates and patterns that are used in the development of courseware products.
Upgrade existing software tools and/or applications based on user feedback.
Coordinate with and support teams in the preparation of specifications, procedures, user guides, work instructions, etc.
Estimate and document development man-hours.
Adhere to team guidelines for project and task tracking.
Adhere to project workflows, timelines and milestones.
Adhere to written guidelines for source code management.
Monitor, review, and coordinate outsourced vendor work.
Provide technical support to vendors, internal teams, and Learning Centers
Experience programming in Visual Studio Development Environment utilizing the .NET languages (C#, VB.NET) is required. Programming experience in C++, development of Computer Based Training (CBT) and/or training device system simulation is a plus.
Must have experience in the entire software development life cycle including requirements gathering and analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation for various development platforms.
Associate’s Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school preferred, or three (3) years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience; equivalency years experience substitution must be in related field.
Field of study in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technology-related fields, preferred.
Create program specifications, procedures, user guides, work instructions, etc.
Develop logic and process flowcharts.
Prepare charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submit recommendations for solutions.
Assist in the evaluation of product selection, production planning, and resource management.
Interact with Technical Resources teammates in the completion of tasks and upgrading of technical skills, as needed.
Request assistance and mentoring from Technical Resources teammates when dealing with new, unfamiliar tasks in order to complete assigned projects.
